You had asked on my freezer paper stencil t-shirts if you could use acrylic paint? For this project, I did specifically use Fabric Paint - it comes in a bottle the same size as acrylic paint, and costs about $3. However, acrylic paint is permanent (I know because I have accidentally stained clothes with it!), and in small amounts, I bet you could use it. I think the benefit of fabric paint is that it is softer - so if you are doing large areas, it will not dry as hard and stiff as acrylic paint might? There may be other benefits... But using acrylic paint is probably worth a try!
